Trip to the P'tit Train du Nord - Sat, Aug 29 2015 - 8 a.m.

Join us for a day of fun and distance skating... at your own pace. Le P'tit train is a former railway. Half of the trail - from Labelle to Mont Laurier, a distance of 100kms - was paved over many years ago. The best thing is that there are slight inclines but no hills. Not to mention the beautiful scenery along the way. Mark it on your calendar now: Saturday, August 29th. Rain date: Sunday, August 30th. Confirm with Claire if you will be attending.

Location: Labelle Train Station

Agenda for the day: Meet at Pont Champlain parking lot at 8:00. From there, we can decide on car pooling. (Depending on the number of skaters interested, we may skip this steps and sort this out ahead of time.) Leave Ottawa at 8:30 sharp - make sure you've already picked up your coffee and muffin. Drive to Labelle, PQ (2hr drive). See map below. We will skate altogether or in packs. No fear of getting lost as there's only one way to go. There are a few small towns along the way where one can stop for water or a quick snack, but you really should bring plenty of water just the same because it may be long distances between stations. We'll all meet back at Labelle for a good meal at about 5:00 and head back home before dark.
