Ottawa Inline Social

Welcome to the Ottawa Inline Social page!

It's not all about training, it's about having fun too! After improving your time over distance through the Ottawa Inline training programs, it's time to enjoy the Ottawa Inline Social Events!

For 2008, the Social Events calendar promises to provide many opportunities for our members to get together and socialize, from the Wednesday evening Social Skates, to the event schedule highlighted below.  Our members rave about our excursions to the P'tit Train du Nord and plan to join us for the Turkey Roll to help out the Ottawa Food Bank.

Upcoming Events

The Wednesday K2 Fun-Fit social skates are starting up again on May 7th! Come join us for a fun and relaxing skate along one of Ottawa's many beautiful paths. Introductions and announcements will begin at 6:15 PM, and the skating begins at 6:30 PM. Please see the K2 Fun-Fit social skate page for schedule and locations.

Le P'tit Train du Nord is an old railroad converted into a 200KM path meandering through the beautiful Laurentian countryside, with a 93.5 KM section from Labelle to Mont Laurier paved in 2003. This trail is ideal for inline skating as the railroad has smooth asphalt and a maximum grade of 6 degrees.

The Turkey Roll is along distance social skate to enjoy the blissfully smooth recreational paths, great National Capital scenery, and help The Ottawa Food Bank all at the same time.

The Ottawa Inline Social Committee was established to promote the social interaction among club members through skating activities during the season, and related activities throughout the entire year.  Let us know if you have ideas for Social Events and ways to promote camaraderie among the terrific group we have!

Our Mission

The Ottawa Inline Skating Club was founded by a dedicated group of inline skaters as a non-profit club to meet the needs of recreational, fitness and speed skaters alike. It is a club run by members for members.

Skate Safety 101

Always wear a helmet when you are on skates and wear your wrist guards. No matter how good you are, accidents can happen. Protect yourself!

When you skate in a pack, cooperation is key! Work together and everyone will go faster!
