Dear OISC,
By now you probably know that we've moved the Inline Skating
Festival to the pristine, new pavement of Rockcliffe
Parkway. With only 8 days to go, we've
got more news on race awards, the after-party
details, and a daily prize draw for K2 backpacks.
There are also some great expert tips on tapering
and sport nutrition, plus racing tips to help you
ready for a great fall season.
All of the panorama photos below show off the new
Rockcliffe Parkway experience! Enjoy the
read. |

open until midnight on August 31. The rates go
up for on-site registration for most events go up by
$10, so register now. We have secure online registration
set up for your and our convenience (we're all
volunteers, so the web really helps!)
August 26 is the deadline for
being able to get your complimentary T-shirt or the
cooltex upgrade. We have to place the T-shirt order then
and won't be able to guarantee shirts for late
registrants.

Tapering for a
marathon What is the best way
to taper for a marathon? Get the goods from expert Barry Publow.
Also Ray Vermette's very entertaining point of view
on race kit prep is
always worth a re-read. Thankfully our races are
mercifully all in ther afternoon, so no early morning
alarm clock needed! |

Practices start at 6:15 pm Club
practices will start at 6:15 pm sharp from now on.
Unbelievably given the great summer we've had, the days
are getting shorter. Starting at 6:15 pm will help us get a
full practice in to prepare for upcoming events, most
important, of course, our very own Ottawa Inline Skating
Festival. |
