How to Get There

From East or West:

  1. Highway 174, take Blair Rd. North. When traveling East: Hwy 174 begins right after the St Laurent exit off the 417. Do not stay on the 417 heading toward Montreal!

  2. Turn left onto Montreal Rd.

  3. Take off-ramp right into NRC Campus.

  4. Turn right immediately after Information Post at roundabout.

  5. At T junction, turn right.

  6. Take first left onto Howlett.

  7. Drive straight until you reach the M-36 parking lot.

From Downtown

  1. From downtown, take Sussex East.

  2. Sussex turns into Rockcliffe Parkway.

  3. Near Aviation Museum, take off-ramp right onto Aviation Parkway.

  4. Turn left onto Montreal Road.

  5. After Bathgate, take off-ramp right into NRC Campus.

  6. Turn left and pass under Montreal Rd.

  7. Turn right onto roundabout.

  8. Follow directions 4 through 7 above.

By Bus

  1. From Rideau Mall, take #2 Blair Rd. east.

  2. #2 will take you down Rideau St., down Montreal Rd, pass St. Laurent Blvd, pass the Monfort Hospital, pass Bathgate Rd.

  3. Shortly after Bathgate, get off at the NRC Campus Stop.

  4. Cross under Montreal Rd.

  5. Turn right onto roundabout.

  6. Follow first set of directions 4 through 7 above.

  7. If you decide to lace up and skate from the bus stop, be mindful of pedestrians and motorists and obey all traffic signs.

  8. You can also take #2 North from it's terminus at the Gloucester Shopping Centre to reach the NRC campus.

Asticou Centre Federal/Provincial Government Campus, off Blvd de la Cité-des-Jeunes, Gatineau East

Used by speed group on Tuesdays from 6:30 to dark, until the North Loop / P8 location becomes available.

How to Get There

From Downtown Ottawa or Ottawa East

  1. Take King Edward North across MacDonald-Cartier Bridge into Quebec.

  2. King Edward becomes Autoroute de la Gatineau / Route 5.

  3. Take Blvd St-Raymond Exit (Route 148) also known as Casino exit.

  4. Turn left onto Blvd St-Raymond.

  5. Turn right onto Blvd de la Cité-Des-Jeunes.

  6. At second T-intersection, turn left into Asticou Centre.

  7. At four-way stop, turn right.

  8. You are now on a 2km paved loop road. Proceed to the far side of the loop

  9. If you see signs for Heritage College, you've gone too far.

From Ottawa West

  1. Take Champlain Bridge to Quebec.

  2. Turn right onto Chemin D'Alymer.

  3. Turn left onto Blvd. St-Raymond.

  4. Turn left onto Blvd. de la Cité-Des-Jeunes.

  5. Follow directions 6 through 9 above.

North Loop / P8

Gatineau Parkway in Gatineau Park, starting from P8 parking lot.

Used by speed group on Tuesdays from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm when evening road closures are in effect.

How to Get There

From Downtown Ottawa

  1. Take King Edward North across MacDonald-Cartier Bridge into Quebec.

  2. King Edward becomes Autoroute de la Gatineau / Route 5.

  3. Exit at sign for Old Chelsea.

  4. Turn left onto Chemin Old Chelsea.

  5. Pass through village of Old Chelsea.

  6. Immediately after four-way intersection at Gatineau Park Entrance, turn right into P8 parking lot.

  7. After the gates are closed, we skate north from here to the opposite gate near the camp fortune road junction.

How to Get There

From Ottawa

  1. Take Champlain Bridge north to Quebec.

  2. Turn left onto Chemin D'Alymer.

  3. Continue driving west along Chemin D'Aylmer for about 5km. Note - Chemin D'Alymer becomes Rue Principale.

  4. Turn Right onto Rue Broad.

  5. Continue north. After a few 4 way intersections, the Ecole Grand Riviere should appear on the right.

  6. The track is on the fenced-in, elevated piece of land north and next to the school.

Sunday Bike Days Skate Station

Corner of Colonel By Parkway and Seneca Street.

Days & Times Used
Location of Sunday Bike Days skate station each Sunday from Victoria Day weekend to Labour Day weekend, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Also location of Try and Learn Sessions. In case of rain, these sessions are moved to the Brewer Park Arena.

How to Get There

  1. From Bank Street or Bronson Ave., turn onto Sunnyside Avenue.

  2. Turn north onto Seneca Street.

  3. Seneca Street can also be accessed from Colonel By before 9:00 am. If you intend to take Colonel By, make certain you arrive well before 9:00 am to avoid the Sunday Bike Day road closures.

Brewer Park Arena

Our Mission

The Ottawa Inline Skating Club was founded by a dedicated group of inline skaters as a non-profit club to meet the needs of recreational, fitness and speed skaters alike. It is a club run by members for members.

Skate Safety 101

Always wear a helmet when you are on skates and wear your wrist guards. No matter how good you are, accidents can happen. Protect yourself!

When you skate in a pack, cooperation is key! Work together and everyone will go faster!
