The Weekend

Join Eddy Matzger and coaches for this weekend of of fun learning. This weekend is bursting technical training, instruction and demonstratons for both your feet and your brain!. You'll get to spend quality time learning to skate in a fun and motivating atmosphere from one of the most successful inline skaters and most popular coaches around...Eddy Matzger!

This special event will be held at the the NRC campus through the entire weekend. A catered lunch will be provided on both days, and when the day of learning and skating is over, come out and relax with everyone for an evening of dining and dancing at the Lone Star restaurant. The weekend wraps up Sunday afternoon with a fun race, where you can try out your new found skills.

Eddy Matzger "Skate Farm" workshops are on their own a great experience. Typically registration for a Skate Farm workshop is $250 USD. For this event, not only will Eddy be offering on skate instruction, but you'll receive:

  • light lunches;
  • a set of ILQ9 berings;
  • a souvenir Skate Farm t-sirt; and
  • a set of take-away notes with valuable reminder content from Eddy.

All tThis incredible value at just $75 Cdn for club members ($150 Cdn for non-members).

Who This Event is For

This event is ideal for all skaters, of all skill levels. However, if you are an absolute beginner and have never tried skating at all, you should take some basic skating courses before hand. The inlineottawa.com club offers free drop in clinics on sundays as part of the Sunday Bike Days program. You may also take drop in beginner courses at Figure 8 throughout the summer skating season.

A certified safety helmet is required for participation in this special event. The inlineottawa.com may or may not be able to supply you with a safety helmet. Skaters are expected to bring and wear a safety helmet.

The inlineottawa.com club does not rent/sell equipment such as skates, safety pads or helmets, however you may purchase skating equipment from our official sponsor Il Peloton.

Pricing for this event is $75 for members and $150 for non-members. The deal is even sweeter if you become a club member now. Club members receive a 50% discount! At $75 this special event is an amazing value. You may register online for this event. Register early as spots will go fast for this special event. This is the only Canadian date on the 2008 Skatefarm tour.

Registration for this event is being offered in two phases; until May 15, only club members may register. On/after May 15 non-club members may also sign up for this event. Become a member, you can get an early spot for this event and save $75.

If you would like to get an early seat reserved, become a club member. Club members get a 50% discount, so it does not cost any more to become a member ($75 for a membership + $75 for this event). To become a member, just buy a 2008 membership from our online store.

Weekend Schedule

Both Saturday and Sunday will be chock full of skating and learning from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. On Saturday morning we request that you arrive by 8:00 AM so that all registration, skill assessment and grouping can take place before the opening presentation in the theatre from Eddy.

Lunch will be provided on both days and there'll be a fun dinner, party and dance at the Lone Star Restaurant on Saturday night from 7:00 until 11:00.

What You Will Learn

Eddy Matzger will be putting on the ultimate skating weekend of skating skills, drills, theory and exercises with hands on attention for each and every skater. In addition, Eddy will be assisted by top level coaches.

The weekend has over 12 hours on skates. Take-away notes will be provided in your weekend souvenir package.

All skaters will be grouped into levels so that skate training and content will be geared specifically to each group.
